Meeting Minutes

Here are the minutes for the meeting on March 9th in the very exciting Cafe East:

The Team discussed recycling options for the college. As of now, it is not known what the implications of adding cans and bottles to the recycling might be. There are maintenance and pick up issues [note: this problem may be remedied with the single stream recycling].

Several ideas were mentioned with regard to publicity and education about recycling. They include talking to the SGA and participation in the RecycleMania competition or using the formulas they provide to show how much paper is being saved.

Neph discussed several green IT initiatives, including the printing limits, using the eco font, and advocating double sided printing.

Robert also talked about using sustainable/native plants around campus, and coming up with a master plan to do so. He also discussed an article from American Nurseryman called the "7 Principles for Sustainable Design" that can be found at this link or in print in the library, American Nurseryman, August 15 2008 issue, page 36.
